Vinta nanda rape case: #metoo movement

Vinta nanda rape case: #metoo movement https//www.refluxknowledge.blogspot.com

Veteran character actor Alok Nath, who finds himself dragged through the raging fires of the #MeToo movement currently sweeping through Bollywood, has been vainly protesting his innocence ever since TV writer Vinta Nanda accused him (without naming Alok) of raping her 19 years ago when they were working on the teleserial Tara.

Alok’s defence has been that he “neither denies nor agrees” with Nanda’s account. Claiming to be the person behind her success, Alok further said that “someone else must be the rapist” and that there was no point his reacting to these allegations because “only what a woman says will be considered”.

Still bristling at the charges being leveled against him and his trial in the media, Alok told PeepingMoon.com just now, “Only people who have no work will talk like this. If anything like this had happened to anybody, there was the police and the courts of law then too, why bring it up 20 years later?”

The actor, who made his debut in Sir Richard Attenborough’s Gandhi in 1982 and was last seen in Luv Ranjan’s comedy Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety earlier this year, also told PeepingMoon.com, “People can say what they want, but I am innocent, and I know this and also my family knows this. Every member of my family has today decided to strongly support me. I am also taking legal advice and will go with what my lawyer says. If on somebody’s writing people can assume I am guilty then on my saying so they should also accept that I am innocent and not wait for me to be proved guilty in a trial by the media.
